We were lucky enough to visit Vancouver a couple of years ago. During the holiday we bought tickets for a day trip to to Vancouver Island, it included a tour of Victoria and a visit to the stunning Butchart Gardens.
The gardens are truly remarkable and a tribute to Jennie Butchart, whose vision and dedication over 100 years ago have produced a paradise for gardeners and photographers alike. I hadn’t heard of them before and if you haven’t either, you can find more information here
I’ve posted a few photos into the gallery below, to give you an idea of the beauty of the place.
- Sun through the trees
- Mossy squirrel
- Beautiful Iris
- Dancing water
- View across the valley
- Entry to the gardens
- Across the water
- Map of the gardens
We had a really enjoyable day in the gardens, then visited the shop where I bought a few souvenirs to bring home. If you ever get the opportunity to visit Butchart Gardens take it, and your camera, you won’t be disappointed.
We don’t live too far from Butchart (a day trip) and love going! Such lovely photos, Dee. Thanks for sharing your trip with us!

Hi Dawn thanks for taking the time to visit my other blog. I wanted a place to post travel notes & photos separate from my writing blog – if that makes sense.
Butchart is a wonderful place,as are the other parts of Canada we’ve visited, the scenery is indescribably beautiful, we really enjoyed our time there

Yes, it’s a gorgeous part of the world! I’m lucky to call it home, just over the border. 🙂

Last time I was at the garden was over 10 years ago – amazing how it stays the same and still changes. Your lovely photos bring back such memories!
